Prior to Trump's inauguration, China's vice president meets with JD Vance and Musk.

 

Ahead of President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration, Chinese Vice President Han Zheng held separate meetings with Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) CEO Elon Musk and U.S. Vice President-elect JD Vance on Sunday, marking important diplomatic and economic discussions, Chinese state media reported on Monday.



Vice President Han highlighted the enormous potential for collaboration between the United States and China in his conversation with Vance. According to Xinhua news agency, he expressed China's willingness to work with the next U.S. government to carry out the significant agreement made between President Xi Jinping and President-elect Trump.

According to the report, Han emphasized the significance of fostering the steady, healthy, and sustainable growth of China-U.S. ties while upholding the values of respect for one another, peaceful coexistence, and win-win collaboration.

In a subsequent meeting with Elon Musk, Vice President Han said that China welcomes Tesla and other American businesses to take advantage of possibilities and profit from China's progress.

The report claims that Musk's positive response signaled Tesla's plan to boost collaboration and investments with China in order to contribute to the advancement of bilateral trade and economic exchanges.




As President Xi Jinping's special envoy, Vice President Han is in Washington to attend the inauguration of President-elect Trump. This comes after Trump and Xi spoke over the phone recently on topics including trade, Taiwan, and TikTok.
